The next Level 2 Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training in Finland will be arranged in Frantsila from April 30th to May 5th 2015. Teachers will be Gurudass Kaur and Jivan Mukta Singh. We interviewed the teachers of the training about the module content.
According to Jivan Mukta Singh the training will be a good opportunity to connect with the international sangat because there will be participants also from abroad.
We sent some questions to Gurudass Kaur and luckily she had time to answer them while teaching in Estonia in February.
You will be teaching at the next Level 2 training in Finland in April/May 2015. The module will be Conscious Communication. What will be the key objects/content of the module?
This Level II Module offers an in depth opportunity to look at Communication from every angle. As Human Beings we are social animals that need to communicate with each other. Our form of communication has everything to do with success in our relationships. This course studies your form of self-communication and also how you use your words, tone of voice, body language, personal values, hidden agendas, belief system and more….to communicate with others. Included in this course are Kriyas and Meditations, and Video classes with Yogi Bhajan that speak to this theme. As KundaliniYoga teachers this course also helps one to work on their voice as a teacher, a crucial element in being an effective teacher.
What benefits/tools the teachers will get from the Conscious Communication module?
Other than what I have shared in question one this course offers tools such as: How to use meditative speaking to effectively reach the other person, how to listen actively and therefore empower the other to find their truth, how to strengthen the Fifth Chakra, how to understand and use Prayer effectively, and how to connect deeply with one’s own inner voice.
You also teach Childplay yoga courses and have certification as a Montessori teacher. Do you apply these pedagogies into the level 2 training? If yes, how?
The Kundalini Yoga Level II courses have so much material to cover and are so complete within themselves that I usually do not mix these two courses other than to include some fun games that help us connect and have a playful break! However many of the things that I teach in my ChildplayYoga course come from my study of these Level II modules that can be applied to teaching children.
What are the roles of silence and deep listening in communication?
Inner silence and deep listening are the main roles in Conscious Communication. Normally our egos are triggered when we are listening to another and we become concerned with what we are going to say, or how we are going to impress the other when they finish talking. In this way we are not really listening to the other. The ability to really listen is the key to good communication and it is also the key to spiritual awakening when practiced in the spiritual context.
Have you been before in Finland? What kind of expectations you do have for your stay?
I have been to Finland once for a Level I Kundalini Yoga teacher training program! As for expectations….I suppose as yogis we might try to not have them!! But if I were to have them I might expect, great weather, wonderful adoring students, great food, marvelous saunas, a comfortable bed….hmmm…have I left anything out? Ha ha Ha…only joking of course!!! I am so happy to come back to Findland. I found the nature astonishingly beautiful and the people very meditative. I also have a great fondness and respect for Jivan Mukta Singh and his wife and look forward to teaching together with him. Thank you so much for honoring me with this opportunity to share a little bit.
Lovingly, Gurudass Kaur
